Annual Base Pay for Full-Time Firefighters 

  • Firefighter Entry Level (salary during recruit training)
    • $49,566
  • Firefighter AEMT or EMT-I (salary after graduation from recruit training)
    • $53,644
  • Firefighter Paramedic (salary during and after graduation from recruit training)
    • $58,610
  • Lateral Firefighter/AEMT or EMT-I
    • $53,644
    • Additional 5% for those who qualify as Fire Apparatus Operators 
  • Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic

    • Additional 5% for those who qualify as Fire Apparatus Operators 

Annual Base Pay for Paramedic-Only (PMO) 

  • Paramedic-Only (PMO)
    • Salary Range: $51,837.00-$70,886.00

Differential Pay for All Field Operations Employees (Fire and PMO)

  • Additional $100 per ambulance shift worked
  • Holiday shifts worked pay at a rate of 1.5x hourly rate
    • 11 Holidays recognized at this rate
  • Degree Incentive 
    • Associate degree - Additional $1000 added to annual salary.
    • Bachelor's Degree - Additional $2000 added to annual salary.
    • Master's Degree - Additional $3000 added to annual salary.

  • 24/48 Schedule

    • Work just 10 days a month!

    • After recruit school, our firefighters work 24-hour shifts followed by 48 hours off-duty.

  • Retirement

    • Defined benefit pension plan

      • Earn 2% per year up to 60% of your pre-retirement earnings.

      • 100% vested after 5 years of service.

    • Optional 457(b)

  • Paid Time Off

    • Approximately 4.5 weeks of annual leave (Vacation + Holiday Leave)

      • Vacation Leave accrual increases with years of service. This time is accrued over the course of a year.
        • 0-5 Years of Service: 108 hours/year
        • 6-10 Years of Service: 162 hours/year 
        • 11-15 Years of Service: 194 hours/year
        • 16-20 Years of Service: 216 hours/year
        • 21-24 Years of Service: 238 hours/year
        • 25+ Years of Service: 270 hours/year
      • Holiday Leave is accrues at the beginning of each year and can be used anytime.
        • 144 hours per year is accrued at the first pay period of the year.
    • Sick leave

      • 113 hours of sick leave accrued each year.

  • Paramedic Program
    • Members of CCFES can advance in their EMS abilities by attending our Paramedic Program. This accredited program is offered by our training division and is shift friendly, free to the student, and students receive a stipend on class days. Once licensed as a Paramedic, employees receive a 10% pay increase.
